Frequently Asked Questions
Answers for InstaSnap downloads, public links and supported media types.
What does the InstaSnap Instagram downloader do?
InstaSnap checks a supported public Instagram post link and shows the video or image files made available for that link. It does not require an Instagram login and does not access private accounts.
May I download and reuse Instagram media?
Download only media you own or have permission or another lawful right to save. A downloadable file is not a license to repost it. Copyright, privacy, platform terms and local law still apply.
Do I need an Instagram account?
No. InstaSnap does not ask for Instagram credentials. You need a supported direct link to a publicly accessible post, Reel, Story, photo or other media item.
Can InstaSnap download private Instagram content?
No. InstaSnap does not sign in to Instagram or bypass account privacy. Private, removed and otherwise restricted media is not supported.
Which file formats can I receive?
The result depends on the source media. Video downloads are commonly MP4, while image results may be JPG, PNG or WebP. InstaSnap does not invent a format or higher resolution that the source does not provide.
Are requests rate-limited?
Reasonable technical rate limits protect the service from automated abuse. If you send many requests quickly, wait briefly before trying again.
How do I download a supported public Instagram video?
Open the individual public post, copy its link, paste it into the matching InstaSnap tool and select Find Media. Review the result and use the displayed download button.
Does InstaSnap work on phones and tablets?
Yes, in a current mobile browser. On iPhone, iPad or Android, copy the Instagram link, return to InstaSnap and paste it into the downloader. Browser download behavior can vary by device.
Is InstaSnap free to use?
The public downloader does not display a purchase step. Advertising may support the service. Your mobile carrier or internet provider may still charge for data use.
What information should I avoid sharing?
Never provide an Instagram password, private login token or other sensitive credentials. InstaSnap needs only the supported public media URL you choose to submit.
